For the attention of the curator

I am a Central Coast based artist looking to partake in either a solo or group exhibition.

I work primarily in a series-based approach. Treating each piece as a small vignette contributing to a larger body of work. Each conceptual series of work acts a reflective chapter within my larger oeuvre.

I believe that the artmaking process is deeply reflective of the artmaker. The truth of this statement has been demonstrated in the shared communal interactions with my own work as my process has developed. As I have furthered my narrative crafting and compositional abilities, I have been better able to engage the viewer through my work. The more of myself I put into each piece the more the work reflects the viewer.

Below are my two most recent bodies of work. “God & Violence” (2026) and “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” (2024 – 2025).

“God & Violence” is my fifth major body of work. It was built around small, neat compositions intentioned as mirrors held up to myself. The series deals in comparison and contrast. “The Face & The Wearer” for example is a comparison between inward and outward perception. The image depicts two waring figures. One holds the other in a chokehold. Despite this the other figure is smiling holding up prayerful hands as if masking his circumstances.

“Notable & Ephemeral” demonstrates the ego of the artist. Directly comparing the artist against his created work. Likewise confronting his desire to make something that might outlast him. There is a twisted irony to the painting. The artist can be seen running into his studio which is engulfed in flames. In his attempt to save his work from the fire he puts his own life on the line.

“Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” is my fourth major body of work, composed of nine of my largest paintings. The collection was born from moments of reflection and overwhelm in which the past, present and future converged to a boiling point. The series is titled after the flowers of the Brunfelsia plant, which are colloquially referred to as yesterday today and tomorrow. These flowers appear as the central element to the title piece of “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. The piece acts as a direct representation of the thematic culmination of the nine works incorporating symbols which run throughout the collection.

These common symbols which bleed between pieces craft the narrative of the series. “The Devil Dressed In White” is an example of how these recurring symbols build with each painting. The piece features a fox wearing a nun’s habit. The figure is surrounded by demons, objects and symbols which are drawn from other paintings in the body of work. While the work is built around the narrative of the deceitful fox, the symbols demonstrate a broader consequence. In much the way that one issue in life can snowball into another, the demons and objects remain ever present as shared elements of numerous artworks. As is representative of a spiral into overwhelm.
