The Root

“The Root” explores themes of coming of age. The work is set in the artist’s childhood home. The main figure is contemplative. As he sits atop the staircase he watches as trees grow and surround his environment. "The Root" is a personal and figurative exploration into the nature of reflection and attachment to place. The work captures an essence of finding oneself in a point of life filled with an ever changing sense of identity.
